trackback
above the lagoon
just where the old wagon road
arches and starts to meander
up the hillside
through the weeds and among the trees
the palm fronds settle and smile,
clapping gently for us
and offering sacrificial gifts of coconuts
mingled with rain
we find shelter a bit
from this easing storm
in a tropical grove
where we kiss and imaginations run wild
with “what if”

“offering sacrificial gifts of coconuts
mingled with rain”
Wonderful imagery… I can smell the fresh rain on a cracked-open coconut…
They should make a candle with that scent.
oooh, I want some of that! Great piece. Thanks!
This made me think of an arch with reality and imagination meeting at the very top.
So beautifully written..
Good poem and well put togather
