what a long way to arrive at a kiss:
to swim in cold waters
and dare the dangers of night
to feel the passion of you
to travel so far only to return
just to be alone together
with the smell of long-gone smokefire
still clinging to our bodies
after all these years
all the travails
and all the travels
we had only to love one another
